Bilton Grange Colts A v Maidwell Hall

On Saturday, we welcomed Maidwell Hall to BG on a glorious afternoon to kick off the 2024 hockey season ahead.

The Colts A played in the later push-back which was slightly delayed due to keeper logistics! We started really brightly with the boys moving the ball around the team with speed and pace. Our first goal of the season was scored by Eito who has only played a handful of times! The first half seemed to whizz past and the 10 player squad all had time on the pitch. Will N added to the tally before the half-time whistle blew.

During the break we spoke about the shape and width of the team and pitch and holding a high line. Eito added to his tally with Will G bagging his first of the season too! Theo and Sebbie both played aggressively but controlled the defensive play whilst Casper enjoyed some solo runs down the left wing. He picked up a couple of goals at the end to finish the game 6-0. Rohan, Lewis and Zach all made important contributions to the match as we rotated players around in different positions.

Next we look forward to Wednesday’s fixture verses The Elms which is always a strong fixture.
