Bilton Grange Boys-U10A vs  Festival v Five teams

Bilton Grange hosted an U10 Rugby festival consisting of 5 opponent schools with matches lasting 12 minutes each.

Match 1 v The Croft started with high intensity and both teams were breathing hard after 8 minutes. Rob Mitchell ran in the first try and he set up a try for Orlando Briggs which was soon followed by Orlando's second. The Croft scored two fine tries and they displayed good quality width in defence. Result 15-10 win.

Match 2 v Ratcliffe College. Both teams kept the ball close to the contact area. Billy Taylor demonstrated excellent rucking and mauling. Rob Mitchell was able to break the defensive line to score a try. Ratcliffe fought back valiantly to finish the game one try each. Result 5-5 draw.

Match 3 v Rushmoor. Zac Green showed pace in attack and he broke the gain line repetitively. William Hartfield demonstrated the highest tackle count for the BG team. A tackling machine. Both team were able to break through to score. Result 0-0 draw.

Match 4 v Swanbourne. Xandre Tovey was affective in the ruck and tackle area, Henry Slack managed to make frequent forays past the opposition gain line. Swanbourne were able to breach the BG defence twice to score two tries. Orando Briggs powered through to score two tries and Rob Mitchell secured the victory with his lightening fast footed try. Result 15-10 win.

Match 5 v Spratton Hall. Ruirdh Kerr had given a huge amount during the festival and he used every last ounce of energy in this match by defending and stealing the ball whenever possible. Jake Jeon showed pace in attack and fine link passing. Alexander Jones fed the ball well at scrum half. Orlando was on the end of a super string of passes to score a try. Result 5-0 win.

All teams were treated to a hot tea afterwards in the BG dining room, where each of the boys were seen comparing notes from each match and conversing politely after a tough afternoon out on the fields.
