Captain Zac Green lost the toss and set the BG team into a defensive line. Milton Keynes Prep fed the ball to a fast paced runner who was able to shrug off 4 BG tackles to run in the first try of the match. The BG boys were able to use quick hands to enable Zac to pick his way through the MK defence to level the score. The contact area was fiercely contested by both teams; Rupert Willoughby, Ruiradh Kerr and Billy Taylor were quick to secure the ball. Orlando Briggs used a loop around manoeuvre from his scrum half position to power away and score BG's second try. Xander Tovey and Henry Slack were continually hovering around the tackle area and they both were able to turn the ball over for BG in the ruck and the maul. Rob Mitchell benefitted from the quick ball and soon scored a speedy, elusive try. William Hartfield benefitted from continual ball possession, he was able to score BG's fourth try. The whole BG team had to step up at this point, MK were able to pile on the pressure inside the BG 22 yard area. The BG defence held firm. Just before half time, Orlando demonstrated a super rip at the maul to steal possession and pin his ears back down the line to score in the corner. 25-5 at half time. Milton Keynes set their stall out early in the second half. They were able to tackle hard and maintain possession for long periods of time. The BG boys kept the passes flowing via Rupert, Jake and Billy. Orlando found himself on the end of a string of passes and in space - try time. MK battled hard and scored three steady tries, all started from within the BG 22 yard area. Rob stepped up a second time and side stepped his way around four defenders to score BG's last try of the match. Result - 35-20 win.
