Match Report
Bilton Grange Boys-U13B vs  Stoneygate School
On: Wednesday, 02 Oct 2019
Venue: at Home

On Wednesday, the Under 13B and Under 12B teams combined for their first fixture of the term. Unfortunately, when our opponents arrived we had to reduce to 10 men to match their numbers which, due to the size of pitch, suited their faster runners.

We made a slow start as we settled into new positions, and were punished through not making our tackles and losing too much ball at the breakdown. We soon found ourselves 25-0 down. However, credit to the boys, as they did not let their heads drop and looked to respond prior to half time with William Griffiths nearly scoring after making a good break before Rory touched down moments later.

After some re-jigging at the break with Reuben moving into the pack, we started the second half brightly with William Griffiths again finding space to stretch his legs to score. Stoneygate hit back immediately before Sidney was able to find space and use his strength to force his way over in the corner. Unfortunately, this was the end of our scoring as Stoneygate used their stronger players to put the game to bed. However, there were some brighter monuments in the second half with Alex He running well with the ball, Raman looking to get much more involved, Alex Taylor leading the team by example with some good tackles whilst William Spashett was always prepared to get stuck in.

There is still much to work on but progress has been made and all the boys enjoyed the game as it was played in the right spirit.
