Match Report
Bilton Grange 2nd team vs  Oundle School
On: Wednesday, 06 Nov 2019
Venue: Away

It was a pleasure to umpire this fixture on Wednesday and see at first hand the progress the girls are making. My overriding impression was that this was a great team performance; support, encouragement and a willingness to work for each other was evident in abundance. Build up play was accurate from defence right up to attack. Darcey Bush and Bea Leyland both put in solid performances, proving themselves to be the proverbial brick wall and limiting Oundle to only a handful of chances that Chloe dealt with effectively and decisively. Balls out of defence were delivered accurately up the pitch to Lottie Hunter and Elena Newbould who both showed great skill on their respective wings, regularly beating their opponents with some silky moves. Elena showed determination when in the D, netting herself both of the goals (albeit the first one came off the Oundle defender, but the shot was goal bound so we will credit that to Elena's name). Bexie was tireless in midfield, working hard both in defence and attack. Flora and Mary rotated in the Centre Forward role and both were presented with goal scoring opportunities, only the alertness of the Oundle goalkeeper prevented them getting on the score sheet. All in all a well deserved 2-0 victory.
